The Hot Shots is a team of transformation. When this team was established over a decade ago, there were only a few members involved. As the team grew, they became a competitive power soccer team with the United States Power Soccer Association (USPSA). Over the years, the team lost multiple players, and has gone through many transformations. In 2018, five new members joined the three remaining original members to form a team that has significant promise. The team is currently comprised of many youth, ages eight, 10, and two 13 year olds. Therefore, this year is a learning year, as five of the eight players have been playing for less than one year. With each practice and game the team learns new skills, and will be a team to be reckoned with within the next few years.
The Hot Shots is a self-funded team, which means we participate in multiple fundraisers throughout the year, as this sport is not cheap. It is our goal to be able to supply each player with a Strike Force Chair from Power Soccer Shop. A base model of a Strike Force Wheelchair costs $7,900.00, and any special modifications needed are extra. Needless to say, with the cost of equipment, registration fees, travel, hotel expenses, and supplies this sport is very expensive. Without fundraising, this team would not be able to play competitively or participate in tournaments. The team is a 501c(3) non-profit status so any donations received can be tax deductible. More information on how to donate to the Hot Shots can be found on our Donation Page. Every donation is appreciated!
“Use the skills that I have got.
Do not Focus on what I have not.
Of course, I am aware of my limitation.
Yet, I am a part of God’s wonderful creation.”
-William E. Lightbourne-
